ITINERARY - TREKKING INTO TUKE
Day 1
Accommodation: Liamo Reef Resort
Fly into Port Moresby and connect with a 1-hour domestic flight to Hoskins (Kimbe). You will be collected from the airport and dropped off to your accommodation for the night at Liamo Reef Resort.

Enjoy a group dinner together and discuss the plan for the week.
Day 2
Accommodation: Baia Lodge
​
Depart from Liamo Reef Resort to Baia Lodge via 9m boat with your host at 0800am. It is a beautiful 4.5 Hour boat ride along the coastline of New Britain where you will pass Hoskins Airport, lush coastlines, Mt Ulawun Volcano (highest point of New Britain island 2334m), Lolobau Island and perhaps see whales or dolphins along the way.

Arrive at 1pm and enjoy a a walk to see the Village life at Baia village. Enjoy a group dinner provided by our friendly staff.
Days 3
Accommodation: Tuke Wilderness Camp

Have breakfast and depart Baia Lodge to the start of the Tuke trek by car. It is a 2-hour drive on dirt road. You will see bird life, rivers and plenty of greenery along the way.
​
The Tuke villagers will be waiting our arrival at the starting point. Porters will be assigned to each person to assist with your cargo. It is a 4–5-hour trek into the Tuke Valley where you will see a range of flora and fauna of the Nakanai ranges.
​
Settle into our camp site, set up tents and kitchenette then enjoy your first swim in the Tuke Waterfalls. Group dinner by the fire.​
Day 4
Accommodation: Tuke Wilderness Camp
​
Wake up for a morning yoga class followed by a refreshing swim in the Tuke Waterfalls.
At 09:00, depart with the group and local guides to one of the cave systems. It is a 1 hour walk to the cave with much to explore inside. Explore the cave until 12:00 and return to camp for late lunch prepared by the local staff.
​
Afternoon activity involves a cooking class with the locals to make traditional Mumu with coconut milk. Experience how the local people prepare meals and cook on the fire. Enjoy your freshly made meal and return to camp.
As night falls, the white sheet and light bulb will be prepared to attract the vibrant and abundant moth life of the area. See and photograph the various species. Later, relax by the fire and stargaze the night away
Day 5
Accommodation: Tuke Wilderness Camp
Kickstart your day with invigorating group morning yoga, then dive into the crystal-clear waters of the waterfalls. Grab a snork and discover the unique underwater life, or relax in the bubbly pools and soak up the vibes.
At 9:00 AM,’ll set off with our local guide to explore another captivating cave! Immerse yourself in nature as you splash around in a mini waterfall and before returning to camp for a delicious late lunch.
In the afternoon, get ready for an exciting cultural experience as we prepare for traditional dance (singsing) presented by the local village. Create stunning traditional costumes and "bilas," while learning about their rich stories, then enjoy lively dances and songs that will celebrate our unforgettable adventure.
Day 6
Accommodation: Baia Lodge
Start your day with morning yoga, then take a refreshing final swim in the Tuke Waterfalls. After cleaning up the campsite, get ready to walk back to the Tuke Road drop-off point. Enjoy a scenic drive to Baia Lodge. Once settled in, relax with a swim and savor a delicious dinner prepared by the staff.
Day 7
Accommodation: Liamo Reef Resort
Depart from Baia Lodge on a boat heading to Liamo Reef Resort (Kimbe). Enjoy a scenic 4.5-hour ride the vibrant coastline, passing the majestic Mt. Ulawun, various islands, schools of fish, and possibly spotting dolphins along the way.
Arrive at Liamo around 2 PM and check into your rooms. Gather for dinner at 7 PM.
Day 8
Check out from your room at Liamo Reef Resort.
Catch the airport transfer bus to Hoskins Airport for your departure flight.
End of your journey.

ITINERARY - HELICOPTER INTO TUKE
Day 1
Fly into Port Moresby and connect with a 1 hour domestic flight to Hoskins (Kimbe). You will be collected from the airport and dropped off to your accommodation for the night at Liamo Reef Resort.

Enjoy a group dinner together and discuss the plan for the week.
Day 2
Depart Kimbe to Tuke Wilderness Camp via Helicopter at 0630am. Our private bus will transfer you and your luggage to the heli pad located 5 minutes down town where you will be briefed. The flight to Tuke is an incredible flight with many sigificant landmarks, waterfalls, sinkholes and volcanoes to see. Your Tuke guide will be with you for the duration of the 4 night trip.​

Upon arrival, all guests will be settled into their tent style accommodation and then have the day to relax and go for their first swim into the Tuke Waterfalls.
Days 2-4
Generally guests will do the following activities during the stay at Tuke.
​
Cultural experience: experience village life on a village tour, finding and cooking traditional foods in the forest, and a village cultural celebration and traditional dance. Visitors can also do a basket weaving class.
​
Caving: explore the numerous beautiful caves in the Tuke area. These range from easy beginner level caves to harder vertical caves. Experience the thrill of swimming in a beautiful underground river and seeing an underground waterfall.
​
Canyoneering: have a tour of the many waterfalls in the Tuke area, swimming downstream and leaping from pool to pool.
​
Bird Watching and Hiking: there are a range of day hikes that visitors can do in the Tuke area. For avid bird watchers there are multiple species that can be seen in the virgin rainforest.​

Day 5
Today the helicopter will be arriving around 7am and taking you back to Kimbe Town​
​
Land in Liamo Reef Resort and settle into your rooms. Regroup for dinner.
Day 6
Today you fly back to Port Moresby and then your home destination. The Liamo Reef Resort bus will take you to the Hoskins Airport and your morning flight departs at 0700am.
